Toronto Section Hike #4 October 30 2025

  Winston Churchill 42.9km to 8th Line 32.3km Hike #4 in the Toronto Section is 10.6k hike starting at Winston Churchill Blvd through Terra Cotta Conservation area, and finishing at 8th Line. Eleven hikers joined the hike Georgia, Diane, Frances, Frank, Marleen, Annette, Grace, Barbara (HC), Sandra, Rita, and Doug (photos). The trail was covered with fallen leaves but mostly dry which made for a good start to the hike.   We got our bridge picture taken early in anticipation of the forecasted rain. Off we headed along the leafy trail taking care to traverse the hidden rocks. Clothing adjustments shortly after we started kept us busy. It is a perfect start to the hike. Some stretches of the forest in Terra Cotta Conservation area the trees have dropped all their leaves and the trail was a mosaic of bright autumn colours.   Caledon Section - Innis Lake Road (31.5 km) to 7th Line (43.3 km), October 23, 2025 This week Hiking with Friends was back in the Caledon Section, 15 hikers completed this 11.8 km hike in 4 1/2 hrs.  We started at Innis Lake Road and headed towards 7th Line.  Steve R. Peter, Doug (photos), Sandra, Barbara, Ivan.  Before the hike Barbara presented Lesley with a gift of a hiking staff in congratulations for completion of the Bruce Trail. But, shhh... I think she has a gift for everyone who completed! Thank You Barbara! Happy to be on the trail... We started to hike well bundled up against rain, but it never really materialized and we quickly had clothing adjustments.
