Caledon Section Hike #3- Willoughby Road (15.9km) to Innes Lake Road (31.5km) - November 14, 2024 This week 16 HWF hikers turned out for Hike #3 in the Caledon Section which has a lot of road walking.  The rain expected throughout the day did not materialize and made for a pleasant 15.6km Autumn hike from Willoughby Road to Innes Lake Road. Hikers who joined our hike were Doug (Photographer), Renu, Faryde, Ivan, Barbara (Sweep), Geoff, Frances, Steve, Marlene, Bett, Annette (HC), Georgia, Rhonda, Andrew (Photographer), Ron, Muris Everyone was happy to be on the trail which was leaf covered and lots of downed branches from a recent wind storm. Through the tunnel under Hwy #10 This was a strange looking tree Enjoying catching up on the trail with fellow hikers and a welcome distraction the long section of road walking. The sun did shine as we wandered through the fields. This car is a permanent fixture on the trail! See you on the trail soon.

Toronto Section - Halton Hills 27 Sideroad (8th Line roadside parking) (32.3 km) to Winston Churchill Blvd (42.9 km) - 10.6 km on Main Trail, November 7, 2024. 16 of us hiked on this glorious fall day.  Bright sun, light breezes ... a perfect day to hike.   There were too many of us for me to organize a neat lineup like Ken always seems to achieve so we ended up with this motely group..ing.  Besides, on our first attempt, we lined up with the sun at our backs, putting us all in silhouette and blinding my i-Phone.  Reading from left to right, there were Doug (HC), Catherine, Sandra (sweep), Renu (new friend- welcome!), Rhonda, Steve K., Annette, Geoff, Frances, Nancy, Laura, Marion (hiding in the back, also new friend, her second hike with us), Peter, Muris, Marlene and Ron B. Off we go ... Steve finds a weird thing. What happened here? Think about it .. were there two trees which grew into each other?  This isn't supposed to happen in these woods. Bridge photo ... Some rock-hopping

Caledon Hills Section - Chinguacousy Road (2.8 km) to Willoughby Road (15.9 km) - October 31, 2024. Hiking With Friends was not scared of taking on 13.1 km of the Bruce Trail in the Caledon Section this past week...eerily, we had been here just last spring and survived, so what could possibly behead us, uh, be ahead, of us today, on hallow's eve?..just ignore the fact that the route looks a bit like an ax...totally irrelevant... Well the weather is certainly suspiciously warm and sunny for this time of year (says the guy who got to wear shorts for one last hike)...12 souls have appeared through the morning mist to gather on Chinguacousy Road, their pending fate unknown...Ken is pumped for this pumpkin parade to get underway along with Rhonda, Claudia (new friend- welcome!), Annette (H.C), Andrew, Marleen, Laura, Nancy, Doug, Sandra (Sweep), Marion (new friend- welcome!), Faryde and Ivan (also both new to the group...welcome!)...let us now go curiously into this super, natural wor
