Iroquoia Section - Felker's Falls (23.2 km) to Hillcrest Ave. (37.1 km) - February 22, 2024. After a week off due to inclement weather (more to do with road conditions rather than trail), winter resumed its more familiar benign state of affairs, and Hiking With Friends was able to return to the B.T this past week to take on a piece of the Iroquoia Section, from Felker's Falls in Stoney Creek to the roadside parking on Hillcrest Ave. in Hamilton. This 14 km route is one of the more unique hikes on the Bruce, as the Conservancy's "Ribbon of Wilderness" becomes squeezed to its urban encroached minimum, as it passes through the most densely developed area of its 900 plus km span... We will spend roughly 4 1/2 hours enjoying the trail and its unique features, and be required to climb 325 meters, a good portion of that about two-thirds of the way along (as seen clearly in the profile) by way of "those stairs"...but more on that later...it's a pretty warm...
