Iroquoia Section - Felker's Falls to Lewis Road - February 6th, 2025

Our hike this week was 12.6 km from Felker's Falls (on the left) to Lewis Rd and involved a short hike along the top of the escarpment and then a rapid descent to the valley below followed by a continuous series of ups and downs for the rest of the hike.  Despite the freezing rain at the start of the hike, it soon became a very pleasant hike with the snow smoothing the Trail below our feet.


Nineteen hikers joined us for this hike including Lesley (photographer), Ivan (I think), a bit of Claudia?, Steve (hike Coordinator), Peter (I think), Laura, Doug (Photographer), Faryde, Ron B., Renu, Catherine, Marion, Sandra, Marleen, Rita, Barbara, Frank, Donna, and Grace

Onward down the Trail until we final came to the Lewis Road Sidetrail!


HWF had much to celebrate at the conclusion of this hike with Peter completing the Iroquoia Section and both Laura and Peter completed the Dufferin Section late last year!

After over a month off the trail due to a seemingly endless stretch of inclement weather on consecutive Thursdays having caused frustrating cancellations, Hiking With Friends were finally rewarded with a classic late winter day to get out and enjoy our favourite walking path...and we took on a 15 km route from Crawford Lake southward to Mount Nemo with all our pent up energy (which, it turned out, was well needed to complete the journey)...and there was a nice celebration at the end to cap off a glorious outing!.. While hiking the Bruce Trail is our passion and we are seemingly quite proficient at it, our logistical organization can often be "a work in progress"...fortunately, with an experienced hike coordinator in charge, we eventually got sorted out and successfully assembled our group of 20 hikers in the parking lot at Crawford Lake to get our morning selfie shot on record...today'...

Peninsula Section - Series #3: Covering from Cape Chin South (98.4 km) to The Northern Cairn (163.1 km) - June 23-27, 2024. -------------------- Day One: Little Cove Road (156.4 km) to The Northern Cairn (163.1 km) - Sunday, June 23, 2024. Hike #1 of 5. It was a damp and miserable start to our first hike of series #3.  Joining the hike from Little Cove to the Northern BT Cairn were Andrew, Peter, Muris, Georgia, Barbara (HC), Rita, Laura and Nancy. The sun was shining as we finished the hike at the Northern Cairn. Then off to the ice cream shop for the end of hike treat!
