Iroquoia Section Hike #1 - Grimsby (0 km) to Kewis Road (11.1 km)

15 avid HWF hikers met on Thursday for a hike of 11.1km ( of main trail ) from Grimsby to Lewis Rd.

Joining the hike were SteveR, Faryde, SteveK, Grace, Ivan, Renu, Lesley, Donna, Catherine, Annette(HC), Rita, Frances, Doug, Barbara, Sandra(Sweep)

The hike details set the meet time for 8:15am but it was a keen HWF group who arrived early and we set off for an earlier start!

The trail was a mix of mud, ice, and packed snow so time spent putting icers on and off was necessary.

We had much to celebrate on this hike!

 After climbing up to the main trail, we had some road walking along Ridge Rd and Woolverton, then mostly along the top (and scarp side) of the escarpment to the Lewis Rd ST, 460m, ending up at our rides home.

Elevenses break past the half way point.

Annette (HC) was bang on with her weather forecast of rain for the afternoon, we missed the worst of it as predicted! 

There was a bit of drizzle enough to test our wet weather gear!
