Caledon Section - Willoughby Road (15.9km) to Innis Lake Road (30.8km) - May 21, 2026

Caledon Section - Willoughby Road to Innis Lake Road - May 21, 2026

May 21, 2026 found 9 brave souls from the Hiking with Friends group taking on a challenge to conquer the 15 km stretch of the Caledon section - from Willoughby Road to Innis Lake Road – and winning (again).

We few, we happy few, we band of hikers: Ken (pics), Annette (pic), Frank L (pics), Barbara, Steve R (HC), Peter, Laura, Diane & Nancy

Laura & Diane navigating the first of the day’s challenges - shimmy through the narrows of a BT gate ….

Well, well, well what's this? ... we came upon an old artesian well in the Willoughby Nature Reserve and Property.

....and nearby, magical books offered by the head-less ghost who lives in the little house - we rushed by and left it as we found it.

                                Up, always up...

                         On the road again....

Looking out over the lovely Caledon countryside (and the private B-Ball court)

Walking by the entrance gate to the grounds of a  mysterious rich guy who got lucky with his address...

Frank L explained the lucky "888" - translated as (发发发) in Chinese means "wealth, wealth, wealth" so triple 8's are considered a powerful omen for financial success and material abundance.
Clearly, it works.

Into the tunnel under Number 10....

Checking out the Windhaven property - 150 Acres of prime rolling hills for raising horses - with stunning views of the Toronto skyline.....

Back to the road....

And into the forest...

Emerging to find the nicely restored St. Andrew's stone Church just in time for 11'sies...

....and a short prayer for those who have passed.

A colt in the fields of this pretty farm as we turn back onto the trail.

Up and into the hills we go...

The G.O.A.T. of goats (Belle) got Sir Hike-A-Lot's goat by not listening and kept following us on the trail....

What ? Me worry?

Peter and Annette cleverly and safely led this little one back to its home yard and then quickly escaped without being followed.

Un pic dans le zone de pique-nique...

The last leg of the hike towards the Innis Lake Road .....

Home again, home again, jiggety jig!

T'was no Agincourt, but the victory was no less sweet and all enjoyed the beautiful weather and company on this walk through the pastoral Caledon region and look forward to our next hiking adventure.

Ken – heading west (or is that east?)
