    Today's hike was a total of 12.6 km from the roadside parking at Lewis Road and its side-trail to the Felker's Falls' parking lot.  The day was perfect, sunny but not hot.  The trail, after the deluges on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday which had caused such widespread flooding, was much drier than we expected.  Hardly any mud.  This stage was along a bench at the same level for almost all its length.  A climb at the start to get our hearts racing, and a climb at the end, up to the parking lot at Felker's falls.  For the rest, hardly any rock-hopping or slip-sliding.  Easy-peasy!


There were nine of us, Doug (HC & photographer), Geoff, Grace, Laura, Steve K. (photographer), Marleen, Rita, Frances, and Todd.

Peninsula Section - Series #3: Covering from Cape Chin South (98.4 km) to The Northern Cairn (163.1 km) - June 23-27, 2024. -------------------- Day One: Little Cove Road (156.4 km) to The Northern Cairn (163.1 km) - Sunday, June 23, 2024. Hike #1 of 5. It was a damp and miserable start to our first hike of series #3.  Joining the hike from Little Cove to the Northern BT Cairn were Andrew, Peter, Muris, Georgia, Barbara (HC), Rita, Laura and Nancy. The sun was shining as we finished the hike at the Northern Cairn. Then off to the ice cream shop for the end of hike treat!   Iroquoia Section - 12.44km from the Sydenham Road Lookout to the Grindstone Falls, 25 January 2024. Unseasonably warm weather after vicious cold the week before.  Damp but no rain.  Fog.  Perfect weather for slip-sliding away on the Bruce Trail! It was so slippery that getting out of our cars was fraught.  There were 13 of us eager to get started - from left to right and barely visible apart from me (Doug) and my nostrils were Steve R, Barbara, Lesley, Liz, Nancy, Grace, Sandra, Andrea, Rita, Josie and Frank.  Marleen was in there somewhere but hiding!
