Blue Mountain #2 from 9/10 SR(km 14.1) to Devil's Glen (km 29.5) Our hike this week was 15.4 km in the Blue Mountain section between 9/10 Conc and Devils' Glen. Joining the hike were Ivan (Sweep), Josie, Marleen, Annette, FrankL, Ron, Barbara (HC) and Faryde. Finally!   The elusive Bobolink was spotted in a field close to the start of the hike.  This is one happy hiker! A large Northern Leopard Frog hops aross the trail. The meadows were full of butterflies enjoying the sunshine. The first of many rest stops today. Tackling the road walk early before the day gets too hot! We were grateful to have shade from the hot sun.  Although in places the ice-storm damage was evident with a significant loss to the forest canapy. Much needed elevensies. Glad to be back in the forest as the day heats up. Finding shady spots for hydration stops. This weeks "bridge" photo on the boardwalk Annette plans out the short cut route, but the group decides to carry on the main trail....

Thirteen hikers joined us on this warm humid for 14.2 km hike in Dufferin to continue their quest for their EtoE.  Today our hikers were Marleen, Peter, Laura, Doug, Josie (photographer), Andrea, Rita, Arim, Nancy, Renu (photographer), Frances, Annette (photographer and Hike Coordinator), and Andrew (photographer).  The hike was a steamy one with lots of hills and streams to overcome made ever more challenging by the extreme humidity.  Luckily, I missed the hike as I had conveniently injured myself and so I couldn't coordinate the hike while Annette graciously took over.  I apologize if the pictures are out of order as not being there, I really don't know what came when but enjoy! A wayward car Elevensies by yet another creek!     A well deserved rest from the steamy heat and multiple climbs. The final few kilometers for our weary hikers.   Finally the end and the celebration!  Congratulations to Nancy on her completion of the Duf...
