 Peninsula Section: Series #2 - Cape Chin S Rd.(98.4 km) to Lion's Head Beach Cabins (south of 83.0 km), June 12, 2024.



Wednesday's hike clocked a total of 16.7 km in 6.5 hrs with an elevation change of 160 m.  The day started cool but quickly warmed up and by the end of the hike we were sweltering while road walking, though the views were to die for. As soon as we began the trail we encountered an uncontrolled burn. The fire had begun the night before and the fire department had been on site making sure it was out. 
In the end, it was another perfect day on the Bruce Trail.

Frank, Catherine and Sandra at the Tobermory Cairn. They completed the last section of the Bruce Trail 6.7 km. 




Andrew, Lesley and Stephen completed the Dyers Bay to Cape Chin S Rd. section. Total of 15.0 km, in 5 hrs 15 mins.

  Iroquoia Section - 12.44km from the Sydenham Road Lookout to the Grindstone Falls, 25 January 2024. Unseasonably warm weather after vicious cold the week before.  Damp but no rain.  Fog.  Perfect weather for slip-sliding away on the Bruce Trail! It was so slippery that getting out of our cars was fraught.  There were 13 of us eager to get started - from left to right and barely visible apart from me (Doug) and my nostrils were Steve R, Barbara, Lesley, Liz, Nancy, Grace, Sandra, Andrea, Rita, Josie and Frank.  Marleen was in there somewhere but hiding!  Iroqouia Section - Guelph Line (81.6) to Grindstone Falls (71.2) - April 18, 2024.      Thursday's hike was originally posted as a 10.5 km hike, and as you know most of us won't get out of bed for less than 10 km. So, luckily our hike was increased by 3.5 km due to the Dundas Street roadworks expansion.   Stats for the hike say we hiked 13.7 km., with a 250 m. gain in elevation, in 4 hrs and 15 minutes.       We assembled at roadside parking along Guelph Line in front of the stile. Joining in are Steve R. (photos and sweep), Andrew (photos), Frank, Ron B., Nancy, Andrea, Josie, Marleen, Lesley (H.C.), Rita, Laura and Peter.  Travelling to our meet point at Grindstone Falls along Mill St. meant queuing due to road works... We set off at a brisk pace and encounter one of many streams we need to cross.
