Caledon Section Hike #3- Willoughby Road (15.9km) to Innis Lake Road (31.5km) - November 14, 2024


This week 16 HWF hikers turned out for Hike #3 in the Caledon Section which has a lot of road walking.  The rain expected throughout the day did not materialize and made for a pleasant 15.6km Autumn hike from Willoughby Road to Innis Lake Road.


Hikers who joined our hike were Doug (Photographer), Renu, Faryde, Ivan, Barbara (Sweep), Geoff, Frances, Steve, Marlene, Bett, Annette (HC), Georgia, Rhonda, Andrew (Photographer), Ron, Muris


Everyone was happy to be on the trail which was leaf covered and lots of downed branches from a recent wind storm.

Enjoying catching up on the trail with fellow hikers and a welcome distraction the long section of road walking.

The sun did shine as we wandered through the fields.
This car is a permanent fixture on the trail!

  Blue Mountains and Beaver Valley Sections - Series #1: May 20-22, 2025.                    ----------------------------------- Day One - Blue Mountains Section - Lavender (0.0 km) to 9/10 Side Road Nottawasaga (14.1 km) - May 20, 2025. Hiking With Friends' first spring series to the more northern sections of the Bruce Trail found us congregating in Collingwood this past week to enjoy three hikes, one in southernmost part of the Blue Mountains, and two more in the Beaver Valley. The conclusion of these three hikes would lead to something great, but to start with, we had to go Lavender on day one, and walk northward to the parking at 9/10 Side Road Nottawasaga...how did that go for us?...well actually, it went just "hikingly" thank you...   Iroquoia Section - Crawford Lake (104.5 km) to Mount Nemo (91.0 km) - March 13, 2025. After over a month off the trail due to a seemingly endless stretch of inclement weather on consecutive Thursdays having caused frustrating cancellations, Hiking With Friends were finally rewarded with a classic late winter day to get out and enjoy our favourite walking path...and we took on a 15 km route from Crawford Lake southward to Mount Nemo with all our pent up energy (which, it turned out, was well needed to complete the journey)...and there was a nice celebration at the end to cap off a glorious outing!.. While hiking the Bruce Trail is our passion and we are seemingly quite proficient at it, our logistical organization can often be "a work in progress"...fortunately, with an experienced hike coordinator in charge, we eventually got sorted out and successfully assembled our group of 20 hikers in the parking lot at Crawford Lake to get our morning selfie shot on record...today'...
